Depending on the email inputted, Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail/MSN, AOL or Orkut the application will import the user's address/contact list.
I am looking for more than Yahoo and Hotmail... must include AOL, GMail and Orkut as well.
Examples of this are on http://www.inkman.cn/importer.
1. Yahoo and Hotmail/MSN will be easy to implement, they have open api's.
2. Gmail does not have an api. Gmail will require you to go to http://gmail.google.com/gmail/h/?pnl=a&v=cl and pull the contacts from the pages by reading the html and looking for the necessary mailto: tags then pulling the values.
3. AOL also does not have an api. AOL will likely require the same technique... I do not have a test AOL account but will get one for development.
4. Orkut has a function called 'Download your contacts' on the bottom of the page which saves your contacts as a CSV file, it's simple.
Platform:
Has to be written in C# and .NET. No database is necessary.
Deliverables:
Visual Studio Solution file written in C#.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
