Brief Summary:
  • Rent A Coder reminder: You MAY NOT post the final solution for this (and any) project before your bid is accepted and funds are fully escrowed. Anyone who does may have their account permanently suspended. However, you CAN post:
    • On programming projects: A prototype or functional demo...as long as source code is not provided.
    • On graphics projects: A watermarked and low-resolution version of the work.
I need you to create a Wikipedia article about my company. I will provide you with all the descriptions and etc and you have to make sure the description is formatted in a way that it can get past the "autobiography" filter in Wikipedia. I have a few products that need to be described in the article in a neutral way so that it won't seem like you are advertising for me. The goal of this is for my company to have its own Wikipedia page with details about the company, about the founder(s) of the company, products, goals and etc just like any other company. If you believe you are comfortable writing a Wikipedia article using Wikipedia tags and etc, please bid on the project. I will enclose all the information to the selected bidder. I will provide any pictures/product information and other types of information required. You need to be fluent in English but your first language doesn't necessarily have to be English. Once you write the article, you can send me the Sandbox link in Wikipedia if possible, I will review it and give you the confirmation to publish it.

Requirements Interview Answers:
To help you bid more accurately, the buyer was interviewed about the requirements for this project. Below are their answers. Untitled Page
Project Type: What kind of work do you need done?
Writing (Includes website content writing, proposals and technical writing.)
Legal: 1) Quality of writing: All English writing-related deliverables MUST be of grammatical, structural and logical quality commensurate with written English in a professional journal (unless otherwise stated by the Buyer). If you are a non-native English speaker you are HIGHLY CAUTIONED AGAINST bidding, unless you are 100% certain that you can provide this level of writing.
2) Writing Copyright: All deliverables MUST be completely your own original work and may not be taken (in whole or in part) from any work that you do not have full and complete copyrights to (unless otherwise stated by the Buyer).
2a) You may not quote material from other sources unless the buyer explicitly gives you permission to do so. If they do, you must surround that material with quotes and cite the source with enough detail so it can be verified.
2b) You may not paraphrase from other sources unless the buyer explicitly gives you permission to do so. If they do, you must follow generally accepted standards for paraphrasing. Merely rearranging words and phrases from another source is considered plagiarism and is illegal. To correctly paraphrase, you should read the original and then close the book/source so you cannot see it and then write the entire material from scratch using your own words. (Note: Paraphrasing is legal by U.S. law when the work is considered "Fair Use"...which generally means it will NOT be used commercially and ONLY for educational purposes. On the other hand, if you may know or suspect the work may not be "Fair Use", please inform or consult with Rent a Coder.)
2c) If you infringe any copyright you will forfeit all escrowed funds under the terms of "fraud" in your contract and may have your account suspended. DO NOT BID ON THIS PROJECT, unless you fully understand United States copyright law and it's ramifications to you.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
3b) No part of the deliverable may contain any copyright restricted 3rd party components (including GPL, GNU, Copyleft, etc.) unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the seller's Seller Legal Agreement.
Other Requirements:
I will provide all the graphics and information. You just need to write it for Wikipedia with proper formatting, indexes and etc.

This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Tuesday Nov 17, 2009 9:24:05 AM:

Hello everyone, We are changing our servers and undergoing a lot of changes in the underlying architecture of our web platform very soon. For this reason, we had to pause this project short term. We will contact you in less than 2 weeks about this. Thank you for bidding on the project.
  • All deliverables must be uploaded to Rent A Coder before the deadline(s) for this project...with no exceptions. If this contract makes it impossible for a competent person to do this, then do not start this project...but instead alert Rent A Coder of an un-arbitratable, illegal project.
  • Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements. Rent A Coder monitors all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressors on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.
