We are using a MySQL database and looking to optimize the following:

Most queries are carried on one particular table which can have up to a few million rows but each row will only be about 200 bytes of data.

Columns used for select statements are already indexed but select queries started already to slow down.

This table is currently using MyIsam engine and we look to change this to Memory to speed up queries.

Even though the table may grow up a 5GB in size we can add enough RAM to have all queries executed in RAM to speed up.

The concern is data security in case of system failures.

What we look for is help in setting up a duplicate/backup table with MyIsam or INNO DB engine which automatically duplicates all insert and update queries through a stored procedure (if this is possible). If not or there is a better solution, we are open to feasable suggestions...

• All deliverables must be uploaded to Rent A Coder before the deadline(s) for this project...with no exceptions. If this contract makes it impossible for a competent person to do this, then do not start this project...but instead alert Rent A Coder of an un-arbitratable, illegal project.
  
• Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements. Rent A Coder monitors all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressors on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
