Update for Indian coders using PayPal: As you know, PayPal recently blocked payments to India, including the
ones we sent. Our PayPal rep found a workaround that allowed us to resend them on the the 5th, and unlike previous attempts, these payments have not yet been returned to us (and we believe it worked). However we have never received a coherent answer from PayPal as to why they blocked any of the payments to start with, so this workaround may or may not work next month. If you wish to avoid the uncertainty and switch to Payoneer, they are offering a special to Indian workers. If you tell them you are from Rent a Coder and signup before February 28th, they will waive the typical $9.95 activation fee and expedite shipping for free (which will give you the card in hand in 7-10 days of approval). Click here for questions or to signup.

Brief Summary:
The inventory website should allow the user to log in and cycle through inventory that the database administrator updates continually. The functionality of the site includes an easy GUI (graphical user interface) that meets the basic requirements of searching for an item of interest, selecting the item(s), entering delivery and contact information so that the manager knows who and what to deliver to, and the ability for the website to be in connection with the database so that it updates in real time so that user knows what items are or are not in stock. The specified database language shall be in SQL or Sharepoint.

Requirements Interview Answers:
To help you bid more accurately, the buyer was interviewed about the requirements for this project. Below are their answers. Untitled Page
Project Type: What kind of work do you need done?
Software related (Includes desktop applications and internet websites)
Project Parts: What do you want the seller to do on this project?
Requirements: The seller will analyze the problem and propose a software-based solution to the problem.
Programming: The programmer will take the requirements and translate them into the language of the computer (and test it).
User installation: The installer will move the software from the place it was created (which is called the development or QC environment) to where you will use it (which is called the production environment). The installer then tests the software to make sure that the installation was done properly and completely.
Req. Doc. Type: What kind of documentation do you want for this project?
Formal documentation - After talking back and forth, the seller creates a formal document and/or prototype, as follows:
  • Prototype: The analyst will create a non-working mockup of all pages/screens in the final software. Creating a prototype makes it easier for the user to visualize the final software, and reduces misunderstandings.
Program Type: What kind of software should the seller create (and/or install)?
  • An internet web-site: This software runs on a web server and users will access it using their internet browser.
Internet web-site info
Design and functionality: What does the programming of this project involve?

Programming Language: What programming language(s) do you want your website written in?
I do know the language(s).
Languages(s):
  • XML / XHTML
  • Other: HTML
Database: Will this project include a database?
Yes, it does include a database.
Details:
  • SQL Server -- version(s): 2008

  • IE 6.0

  • Safari 41
  • Firefox 1.0
Server Hosting Environment: What is your server hosting environment?
I have my own in-house server.
Server Hosting Environment: Will the coder develop "live" on your server?
No. The programmer is responsible for creating their own development and/or qc environment.
Physical installation: Who will perform the physical installation?
The programmer will perform the physical installation, and will be given all necessary permissions to do so.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
3b) No part of the deliverable may contain any copyright restricted 3rd party components (including GPL, GNU, Copyleft, etc.) unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the seller's Seller Legal Agreement.

Introduction
Because the warehouse has accumulated overflow stock items, these items will be available for recycled classroom use.
Through the web-based system, teachers and faculty of the school district will be able to log on and view the items available. ? User can place the mouse over a specific category and click the item, on main page the pictures of the item will pop up
  • All deliverables must be uploaded to Rent A Coder before the deadline(s) for this project...with no exceptions. If this contract makes it impossible for a competent person to do this, then do not start this project...but instead alert Rent A Coder of an un-arbitratable, illegal project.
  • Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements. Rent A Coder monitors all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressors on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.

Expert Guarantee Required:

It is crucial to the buyer that this entire project be completed (100%) by the deadline of days. They only want expert sellers who will commit themselves to this deadline to bid. If you are not an expert or unable to commit completely to the deadline, then DO NOT BID on this project.

If you are an expert and can commit, the buyer would like you to demonstrate this by making an
Expert Guarantee of at least 10% of your bid. (This would not need to be made now...but only if and when you are are selected as the winning bidder). If you complete the job (100% by the deadline), then your deposit would be refunded to you. If you do not, then you would forfeit the deposit and it would go to cover the buyer's cancellation charge and the remainder donated to a non-profit charity.

Please note that depending on how you choose to make the deposit, there may be a small, non-refundable processing fee. This fee can be reduced or eliminated by choosing a less expensive method of payment. Or, you may wish to ask the buyer to cover the cost of the fee for you. You can do this in a number of ways such as: increasing the price of your bid, asking the buyer to post a 2nd bid request to cover it (contingent on completion of the project), or by getting the buyer to promise to pay the fee to you as a bonus (upon completion of the project). If you choose the bonus route, just remember that due to credit card/PayPal rules, Rent A Coder CANNOT force a buyer to pay a bonus involuntarily...even when promised on-site. So don't choose this option, unless you trust the buyer, or are willing to take a small risk.

This is just a very brief overview of how the Expert Guarantee works and there are many more details that you need to understand fully before you bid on this project. DO NOT BID on this project until you've read and fully understand everything about the Expert Guarantee (including reading the contract and the FAQs).
