Future Buyers and Sellers have a right to know if a cancellation or reduction in payment occurs. On those occasions, the prevailing party often offers a "trade" to the at-fault party, and agrees NOT to place a bad rating in exchange for a concession of some sort. While Rent A Coder cannot stop this practice, it also cannot allow it to taint the integrity of the rating system. To prevent this from happening, Rent A Coder arbitrators can and do indicate when a cancellation or reduction in payment occurs by placing their own rating and comment on the party they believe to be at-fault (per both the Buyer and Seller agreements). Arbitrators are denoted with the words (RAC) after their name. This may cause an item to appear twice so that both ratings will be visible.

Both M.Media (the buyer) and Tometa Software (the coder) agreed that the first requirement (indexing engine performance) was met by the deadline, and that the second (searching speed) was not. M.Media alleged that Tometa's incompetence caused them to miss the deadline, and Tometa Software alleged that they did not act incompetently. RAC could not substantiate any of M.Media's allegations. Both parties agreed that all funds in escrow should return to M.Media and they would receive copyright to all work paid for.

 We had considerable difficulties with this project. It ended up taking us nearer 18 months rather than the 4 originally agreed.

Having said that - Tometa were the only ones out of all the bidders to realise that the project was difficult and to demand 4 months, rather than the 3 most of the others quoted.

During the Project Tometa tried extremely hard to provide us with the solution we needed, despite the problems we had understanding the specification.

I have been very impressed by Tometa's determination to do a excellent job and to help fully meet our needs.
I would recommend them for large projects like this one, and would use them again. In fact we are just starting a new project with them!

 We've enjoyed working with Tometa on this project. Although at first we had concerns the project was veering off-spec, Tomata have lived up to their promise of meeting our expectations and met our requests at almost every turn. They aim for 10/10 and have earned it.

Any issues were promptly corrected and although the more expensive option (which would be our only critisism), we have no regrets that we chose Tometa for this project and would happily use them again. Recommended if you want the job done right, and on time.

They cracked an extremely difficult project involving complex technology. Even though the project turned out to be much more complex than expected, we have never heard a word of complaint from Tometa team. Instead they strived harder to accomplish the task.
Tometa will undoubtedly be our choice number one for any project.
